- Data flow
- The path a value takes from where it enters the system to where it is stored or shown.
- Ownership check
- Code that confirms the signed-in user owns the record they are changing.
- Schema validation
- Checking input against a declared shape (for example with Zod) before trusting it.
- Mass assignment
- Writing a whole request body into a record, letting a caller set fields they should not, like ownerId.
- Migration
- A versioned change to the database structure, applied in order.
